Development Centre of the Heart of Slovenia, partner of the Erasmus + project STEER, organised two info days for youth workers from five municipalities from the Heart of Slovenia addressing Challenges and Opportunities for youth work. Info days were held on May 22 and June 26, 2017 in Lukovica and Brežice.

The Heart of Slovenia in the framework of the Erasmus + Project STEER actively works in the field of encouraging and assisting young people in transition from education to employment. In May and June 2017, Development Centre of the Heart of Slovenia prepared two working and educational meetings with young and youth workers from the municipalities of Lukovica, Litija, Šmartno pri Litiji and Kamnik, attended by members of student clubs and associations from the Heart of Slovenia and members of the international organization MEPI. The second Info day was also attended by members of youth association from Brežice.

Challenges, desires, demands, experiences and a great deal of goodwill are elements of every individual who as a youth worker wants to contribute to society and encourage young people to participate in non-formal learning and engage in different activities. Participants of both info days: Youth club STIK, members of the KLIŠE club - Litija and Šmartno pri Litiji, the youth associations Lojtra - Litija, MC Litija, MC Kotlovnica – Kamnik, members of youth association from Brežice and the members of the international organization MEPI proved with these events that despite numerous challenges, youth workers will not run out of ideas and will meet and overcome obstacles that are part of youth work. With this event, we also demonstrated the importance of networking and joint engagement. First Info day was led by social pedagogue Sašo Kronegger and second by experienced employee of Development Centre of the Heart of Slovenia Anita Molka. The first meeting was also attended by the President of the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Youth Rok Primožič, which was a great privilege to all attending the event.
