Development Centre of the Heart of Slovenia, partner of the Erasmus + project STEER, organised two Train the trainers Seminars for youth workers from five municipalities from the Heart of Slovenia and cooperating Municipality Brežice. Train the trainers seminars were held on June 30 and July 21, 2017 in Brežice Municipality.

The Heart of Slovenia in the framework of the Erasmus + Project STEER wanted to set up the event as a space for co-creating a view and the position of young people (youth workers) in society, the challenges that young people and youth workers face when working with young unemployed and NEETs and possible answers to the challenges. The event was conducted according to the methodology of the “world café”, so that the participants were discussed the topics with smaller performances, and the results were summed up in plenary sections. The main topics of the events were divided into seven parts – according to seven different learning modules of STEER Project that together form comprehensive training programme for youth workers in transition planning. These topics were: skills for the future labour market, transition planning, psychological mentoring, developing life management and social skills, developing soft and transferable skills and provision of career guidance and counselling among others.

Train the trainers seminars served as a gathering to present STEER e-training platform and its content that will be used as a virtual learning environment where users will be able to find the online modules, participate in learning activities, use assessment tools to evaluate their performance and communicate with other learners and instructors. The event was also formed as a networking space, as youth workers from the Heart of Slovenia wanted to be interlinked also in the future, for better performance when working with NEETs and young unemployed.
